At this year's CCXP in Mexico City, the cast of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds gathered to tease the upcoming fourth and fifth seasons—and they didn't hold back. From dinosaurs to Muppets to tear-jerking scripts, the Paramount+ series is going out with a bang. Paul Wesley, Rebecca Romijn, Celia Rose Gooding, and Ethan Peck sat down with Collider to dish on what fans can expect.

The fourth season promises to push the U.S.S. Enterprise crew to their limits, both physically and emotionally. A teaser trailer unveiled at the convention shows planetary phenomena, dinosaurs, and a chilling shot of Kirk (Wesley) screaming behind closing doors. That moment, Wesley says, comes from an episode he's particularly excited about—one that stands out for its uniqueness and emotional weight. Peck adds that it was "emotionally difficult to play."

Dinosaurs and Muppets Collide in Strange New Worlds

One of the wildest reveals? Dinosaurs. Romijn shared that the production worked with a puppet from Jurassic Park, operated by an incredibly skilled puppeteer. "The puppet had so many facial expressions," she said. "There's a fight scene between one of our characters and that puppet that almost took me out of the scene."

But that's not the only unexpected guest. The cast confirmed that Muppets will appear in Season 4—specifically, a Muppet version of Captain Pike with hair "the size of the room," as Gooding put it. The episode featuring this larger-than-life puppet lands in the latter half of the season, though the actors playfully argued over the exact timing. Wesley, who appears in that episode, couldn't resist teasing his co-stars' memory lapses.

Emotional Finale and a Bittersweet Goodbye

With both Seasons 4 and 5 already filmed, the cast reflected on reading the series finale script. Romijn noted that the emotional beats weren't limited to the final episode—Season 5 is packed with poignant moments that wrap up character arcs. "I think I cried at every end of the scripts for the season," Gooding admitted. Peck, meanwhile, felt a sense of triumph: "To have reached Season 5 was so spectacular to me."

Romijn also hinted at her return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Avengers: Doomsday, but for now, her focus is on the final frontier. As the cast looks ahead to the show's conclusion, they remain grateful for the journey. "We still have two incredible seasons to look forward to," Romijn said. "There's nothing sad about it."
