Prime Video isn't wasting any time sending Jack Reacher on his next adventure. Even before Season 4 hits screens, the streamer has officially confirmed which Lee Child novel will anchor Season 5—and it's a fan favorite that promises plenty of small-town mystery and big-time action.
During the show's San Diego Comic-Con panel, the network announced that the upcoming fifth season will adapt Make Me, the 12th book in Child's bestselling series. The reveal came just days after star Alan Ritchson confirmed that filming on Season 5 was already underway, with all scripts completed before cameras started rolling.
What 'Make Me' Brings to the Table
The novel kicks off with Reacher stepping off a train in a tiny Oklahoma town called Mother's Rest—not because he has any business there, but simply because he likes the name. That impulsive decision, classic Reacher, quickly spirals into a tangled web of missing persons, government conspiracies, and plenty of bad guys who underestimate the big guy. As with every season, this story stands alone, so newcomers can jump right in without catching up on previous episodes.
Fans had already speculated that Make Me might be next after the show's social media accounts teased a railroad crossing image, which pointed to either this novel or The Affair. Now the mystery is solved, and the countdown to more Reacher chaos begins.
Ritchson's Busy Year Ahead
While promoting his upcoming film Motor City, Ritchson shared that the entire fifth season has been written and is ready to shoot. “Yeah, we know [which book we’re adapting]. The season’s been written. We’re ready to shoot. All the scripts are done. The last half of my year is going to be all Reacher Season 5,” he said.
This accelerated production schedule means fans won't have to wait long between seasons. For those who want to revisit earlier adventures, Season 3 is hitting Blu-ray on August 25, just in time to refresh your memory before the new episodes drop.
What's Coming in Season 4
Before Reacher heads to Mother's Rest, Season 4 will adapt Child's Gone Tomorrow. The cast includes Jay Baruchel as Jacob Merrick, Sydelle Noel as Tamara Green, Agnez Mo as Lila Hoth, Anggun as Amisha Hoth, Kevin Weisman as Russell Plum, Marc Blucas as John Samson, and Kathleen Robertson as Elsbeth Samson.
Season 4 premieres on Prime Video on August 20, with the spin-off Neagley debuting the same day the fourth season concludes. With Season 5 already in production, it's clear Prime Video is betting big on Alan Ritchson's take on the iconic drifter.
For fans who can't get enough of the character, the early confirmation of Season 5's source material offers a tantalizing glimpse of what's ahead. Make Me is known for its eerie atmosphere and a mystery that keeps readers guessing until the final pages—elements that should translate perfectly to the small screen.
Stay tuned for more updates as production continues on what promises to be another thrilling chapter in the Reacher saga.
