Stevens, who was officially announced as the new Alex Murphy earlier this week, shared his excitement about the project. "I have not tried the suit on yet, but very soon. We've got fittings coming up," he said. "It's all come together pretty recently, and I couldn't be more excited." He also hinted that the series could extend beyond its first season, adding, "As far as I understand, it could continue [as a recurring series]. I hope it does."
The series marks the fourth live-action iteration of the character, following Peter Weller's original portrayal in Paul Verhoeven's 1987 classic, Robert Burke in RoboCop 3, and Joel Kinnaman in the 2014 reboot. Stevens will bring a fresh take to the role, with Amazon MGM Studios' Head of Global TV, Peter Friedlander, promising a series that "honors the soul of what made the original so enduring while building something entirely fresh and urgent for today."

James Wan executive produces alongside Michael Clear and Rob Hackett, with original RoboCop writers Ed Neumeier and Michael Miner also serving as executive producers. He'll appear in Adam Wingard's Onslaught, then reprise his role as Owen Stark in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2, and return as Trapper in Godzilla x Kong: Supernova.
