If you're a Nicolas Cage fan, mark your calendar for November 10th. Walt Disney Home Entertainment has just announced that two of Cage's most beloved blockbusters, Con Air and National Treasure, are finally getting the 4K Blu-ray releases fans have been clamoring for. Both films have been fully restored and will be available as 4K Blu-ray Steelbooks, complete with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos audio.
For years, these movies have been stuck with older DVD and Blu-ray editions, leaving collectors wanting more. Disney has been steadily upgrading its catalog with 4K restorations of classics like Master and Commander, Tombstone, and Tron, and now it's Cage's turn. The new Steelbooks will include both a 4K disc and a standard Blu-ray, giving fans the best of both worlds.
A Long-Awaited Upgrade
Con Air, the 1997 action thriller that helped define the '90s, and National Treasure, the 2004 adventure hit that made stealing the Declaration of Independence a pop-culture touchstone, are essential pieces of Cage's filmography. While they may not be his most critically acclaimed works (that honor goes to Leaving Las Vegas), they showcase the unique blend of intensity and charisma that has made Cage an enduring icon.
In addition to the physical release, National Treasure will also get a 4K digital rollout on the same day. Con Air already received its digital 4K upgrade back in 2025, so fans can complete their digital collections as well.
What's Still Missing?
While these releases fill a major gap, there are still some notable Cage films awaiting the 4K treatment. Raising Arizona and The Rock are frequently requested by fans, and with Con Air finally getting its due, hopes are high that more are on the way. Disney's library also has plenty of other Touchstone and Hollywood Pictures titles that could use an upgrade, from Pretty Woman to Armageddon.
For now, though, Cage fans can celebrate this victory. These 4K releases will not only satisfy longtime collectors but also introduce a new generation to two of the most entertaining films in Cage's legendary career.
