It's been a whirlwind year for Harlan Coben fans. From the New Year's Day premiere of Run Away to the two-part Final Twist documentary series, the prolific author has kept audiences on the edge of their seats. But the biggest splash came with I Will Find You, starring Sam Worthington and Britt Lower, which soared into Netflix's all-time top ten English-language scripted series. Now, Coben is gearing up for his most ambitious project yet: Myron Bolitar, a multi-season saga that promises to be his answer to Prime Video's Reacher.
Thanks to star KJ Apa, we have our first behind-the-scenes look at the highly anticipated series. Apa, best known for Riverdale, took to social media to share three sneak peeks of himself and co-star Colin Woodell on set. Woodell steps into the role of Myron Bolitar, a former basketball player turned sports agent who often finds himself in dangerous situations for his clients. Apa plays Win Lockwood, Bolitar's eccentric and loyal sidekick.
The photos offer a tantalizing glimpse of the dynamic duo in action, hinting at the chemistry that will drive the series. While details are scarce, the images suggest a stylish, modern adaptation that stays true to the spirit of Coben's beloved novels.
An Ongoing Series in the Spirit of 'Reacher' and 'Bosch'
Unlike Coben's previous Netflix adaptations, which were designed as standalone limited series, Myron Bolitar is planned as an ongoing show. In an interview with Collider, Coben drew direct comparisons to two of streaming's biggest hits. "That one we do plan to be an ongoing series," he said. "Much like, say, Reacher or Bosch, I'm hoping that Myron will continue."
This approach makes sense given the source material. Coben has written 12 Myron Bolitar novels, starting with Deal Breaker in 1995 and most recently Think Twice in 2024. That's a rich vein of stories to mine, and fans are eager to see the character evolve over multiple seasons. The potential for a full-fledged Bolitar universe is exciting, and the early buzz suggests Netflix is all in.
For those unfamiliar with the books, Myron Bolitar is a quick-witted, morally grounded hero who navigates the murky world of sports and crime. His partnership with Win, a wealthy and unpredictable ally, provides the perfect blend of humor and action. The series is expected to capture that dynamic while delivering the twists and turns Coben is known for.
As production continues, fans can expect more updates. In the meantime, there's plenty of Coben content to tide them over, including the recent thriller Missing You, which is well worth a binge. And with Reacher facing new competition from the likes of Chris Pratt's Terminal List, Coben's entry into the ongoing-series arena couldn't be better timed.
Stay tuned to Collider for more on Myron Bolitar and all your favorite shows.
