For years, Tom Hanks brought Dan Brown's iconic Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon to life on the big screen, complete with those unforgettable haircuts. But now, a new era begins. Netflix has officially introduced Morgan Spector as the new Robert Langdon, sharing a first look from the set of its upcoming adaptation of The Secret of Secrets.
The streaming giant confirmed that production is underway in Prague, and the newly released image gives fans their first glimpse of Spector in the role. Spector, known for his work in The Gilded Age, becomes the third actor to tackle the character in a major live-action project. Hanks starred in The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons, and Inferno, while Ashley Zukerman briefly took on the part in Peacock's The Lost Symbol series.
This new Netflix series is based on Brown's sixth Langdon novel, The Secret of Secrets, which hit shelves on September 9, 2025. The plot follows Langdon as he rushes to find a missing scientist and recover her groundbreaking manuscript—a discovery that could fundamentally alter our understanding of the human mind. Expect the usual blend of ancient mysteries, cutting-edge science that feels like magic, and globe-trotting adventures that defy academic budgets.
Who Else Stars in the Series?
Joining Spector is a stellar cast, including Rebecca Hall as Katherine Solomon, Cherry Jones as Heide Nagel, Corey Stoll as Everett Finch, Rob Delaney as Jonas Faukman, and Abbey Lee as Sasha Vesna. Netflix has also added five recurring cast members: Mamadou Athie as Michael Harris, Ben Levi Ross as Alex Conan, Anamaria Marinca as Dr. Gessner, Richard Sammel as Karl Muller, and Elena Saurel as Susan Housemore.
Carlton Cuse, known for Lost, is co-creating the series and will serve as showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Dan Brown himself is also co-creator and executive producer, alongside Emma Forman and Zoe Robyn.
