Mike Colter is gearing up to reprise his iconic role as Luke Cage in the upcoming third season of Daredevil: Born Again, but first, he's stepping into a different kind of courtroom. The actor is headlining a brand-new CBS legal drama called Cupertino, and the network just dropped the first trailer to get fans excited for its October premiere.
Set in the heart of Silicon Valley, Cupertino follows Michael Price (Colter), a lawyer who once rode the tech boom to success before being ousted from his startup and stripped of his valuable stock options. Now, he's launching his own law firm with a mission: take on the industry's biggest players and fight for the little guy. He's joined by Olivia Siffre (Rachel Keller, Tokyo Vice), another attorney who recently found herself without a job. Together, they're ready to challenge the powerful and defend the powerless.
The series marks a reunion between Colter and the husband-and-wife creative team of Robert and Michelle King, the minds behind The Good Wife and its spin-offs The Good Fight and Elsbeth. The Kings previously worked with Colter on the supernatural thriller Evil, where he played a priest investigating paranormal cases for the Catholic Church. That show started on CBS in 2019 before moving to Paramount+ for its final three seasons.
Joining Colter and Keller in the cast are Busy Phillips (Cougar Town) as Natalia, a tech billionaire's ex-wife who bankrolls the firm; Renée Elise Goldsberry (Girls5Eva) as Renee, a rival attorney; Ella Stiller (The Comeback) as legal assistant Christy; and Nik Dodani (Atypical) as Vik, a coder seeking the firm's help. Recurring guest stars include Rob McClure (The Good Fight), Joe Morton (Terminator 2: Judgment Day), and Steven Pasquale (Rescue Me), with Morton playing Bayard, a celebrity lawyer who also happens to be Michael's father.
