Liza Soberano may be best known for her romantic leads, but the Filipino-American actress has a dark side she's ready to explore. In a recent appearance on Collider's Ladies Night, Soberano revealed her dream to join the Final Destination franchise—with one brutal condition.

During a game of "Dicey Questions," host Perri Nemiroff asked Soberano about her favorite scary movie. The actress, who voices Raissa in the new DreamWorks Animation film Forgotten Island, confessed that horror has always been a family affair. "I think my mom was a little punk rock," she laughed, noting that she was introduced to the genre early. Child's Play sparked her fascination, but it's the Final Destination series that she envisions herself joining.

Clayface Sets Up a New Gotham, Confirms Batman Already Active
DC Studios co-head Peter Safran reveals Clayface marks the DCU's first step into Gotham City, with Batman already active, and discusses casting Tom Rhys Harries.

"I would love to be in one," Soberano said. "I always say this, and knock on wood, I've always wanted to die on screen. I've never, like, for real died on screen. I had a show in the Philippines where they killed me three times but brought me back to life three times, so I haven't officially died yet."

Her request is simple: she wants a permanent, on-screen death. This desire aligns with her career ambitions. After breaking into Hollywood with Lisa Frankenstein in 2024, Soberano is eager to tackle new genres. "I want to do something new, completely different from anything I've ever done, like a horror, but it needs to have an element of rom-com to it," she explained, acknowledging her "rom-com queen" reputation. Lisa Frankenstein was a perfect fit, blending horror and comedy, and now she's ready to go full throttle into the macabre.

The Final Destination franchise is indeed on the rise. Last year's Final Destination Bloodlines was a reboot that became the most successful sequel yet, and a seventh film is already in the works, slated for a 2028 release. Belgian filmmaker Michiel Blanchart is attached to direct, but casting has yet to be announced—leaving the door wide open for Soberano.

For Soberano, joining the franchise would be a dream come true, and she's not shy about manifesting it. "I want to do something new," she reiterated. With her standout performance in Lisa Frankenstein and her vocal passion for the genre, it's clear she's ready to make the leap to all-out horror. Whether or not the Final Destination team is listening, one thing's for sure: Liza Soberano is ready to die on screen.

While fans wait to see if she gets her wish, they can catch her in Forgotten Island, where she voices Raissa alongside H.E.R. and Lea Salonga. The film follows two best friends on a magical adventure to save their memories from being forgotten. It's a far cry from the brutal deaths of Final Destination, but it showcases Soberano's range.
