Taylor Sheridan has built a television empire on consistency—year-round releases, familiar faces, and a knack for keeping viewers hooked. But even the most reliable showrunners sometimes have to shake things up. Landman, the Paramount+ drama starring Billy Bob Thornton, is officially breaking its November tradition, and fans will have to wait a little longer for Season 3.

The series, which debuted on November 17, 2024, and returned for its sophomore run on November 16, 2025, had established a cozy annual pattern. But with production on Season 3 only kicking off in Fort Worth, Texas, on October 1, 2026, there's simply no way to hit that same fall window. Instead, expect the new episodes to land sometime in 2027—a rare scheduling shift for Sheridan's usually clockwork-like output.

Why Guy Ritchie's Young Sherlock Outshines The Gentlemen on Prime Video
Guy Ritchie's Young Sherlock on Prime Video surpasses The Gentlemen with a more compelling mystery and deeper character development, making it a must-watch.

What's Happened So Far

Season 1 dropped us into the gritty oil fields of West Texas, where we met the crew at M-Tex Oil: Tommy Norris (Thornton), the boots-on-the-ground exec; Monty Miller, the ailing CEO; Monty's wife Cami; and Tommy's ambitious son Cooper. By the finale, Monty was on his deathbed, Tommy had taken over as president, and a Mexican drug cartel was breathing down his neck.

Season 2 saw Cami step out of her late husband's shadow to run M-Tex, while Tommy—spared a grisly fate by cartel boss Gallino—juggled work, family, and his newly arrived father, T.L. Cooper's oil business soared, and his relationship with Ariana moved toward marriage. It's been a wild ride, and Season 3 promises to raise the stakes even higher.

Who's Coming Back (and Who's New)

The core cast is returning, including Thornton, Demi Moore as Cami, Ali Larter as Angela, Jacob Lofland as Cooper, Michelle Randolph as Ainsley, Paulina Chávez as Ariana, Kayla Wallace as Rebecca, Andy Garcia as Gallino, and Sam Elliott as T.L. Also back are James Jordan, Colm Feore, and Mark Collie.

New to the party is Michael Kelly (House of Cards), who'll play William Crockett, the head of one of the world's largest oil management firms. Meanwhile, Feore, Mustafa Speaks, Bobbi Salvör Menuez, and Francesca Xuereb have been promoted to series regulars, so expect their roles to expand significantly.

Why the Delay?

It's simple math: with production starting in October, post-production and a full season's worth of episodes can't be ready by November. Sheridan's other shows—like Tulsa King's Dwight Manfredi and Yellowstone's streaming dominance—have kept Paramount+ busy, but Landman fans will have to exercise patience.

While you wait, both existing seasons are streaming on Paramount+. And if you're craving more Sheridan-style drama, check out Lioness, which has been filling the void nicely. For now, mark your calendars for 2027—Landman will be back, just not when we expected.
