But here's the burning question: is Krypto Saves the Day part of the official DCU canon? According to James Gunn himself, the answer is no. Gunn has been clear that these shorts are not canon, but he still adores them—and that's good enough for us. So don't stress about timeline inconsistencies; just enjoy the adorable mayhem. Gunn and his DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran serve as executive producers on the series.
And there's more on the horizon. A spin-off titled Krypto & Supergirl: Capes for Hire is in the works, though no release date has been announced yet.
