Juno Temple, best known for her breakout role as Keeley Jones in Ted Lasso, is diving into a wild new project for Apple TV. The actress is starring in The Husbands, a sci-fi rom-com series that promises to be anything but ordinary. Based on Holly Gramazio's novel, the show follows Lauren (Temple), who comes home to find a stranger claiming to be her husband. When he goes to change a lightbulb in the attic, he's replaced by another husband—and the cycle keeps going, forcing Lauren to question every choice she's ever made.

In an exclusive chat with Collider, Temple opened up about the demanding shoot. “Definitely,” she said when asked if filming was still underway. “That’s why I’m tired today. It’s been a week of 5:00 a.m. starts. I’m excited about it. I’m nervous about it.” The series is expected to wrap production around the second week of June, though an official release date hasn't been announced yet.

What Makes 'The Husbands' Unique?

Temple explained that the show explores relationships and marriage from a fresh, modern perspective. “I feel really excited about the exploration of a woman in it and the impact that relationships have, and, in this day and age, what interesting conversations you can have about relationships, about marriage, and about whether you want them or not,” she said. The sci-fi twist allows the series to examine how different partners can change a person's entire reality.

The production design is a huge part of that. Temple praised the set, costume, and makeup teams for their meticulous work. “With each universe of a husband that my character is exploring, the entire universe changes,” she noted. “So you have the set designer and all the props department practically changing wallpaper, lights, all the trinkets throughout a house, the plants, and my mind has been blown. It's the greatest build I've ever had the privilege of walking into.”

She also revealed that her character undergoes subtle transformations with each new husband. “I think I have eight wigs in this, which is amazing,” Temple laughed. “And the lighting and how lighting affects the space. And then also, how you are as an actor with your co-stars. It's been a really beautiful process watching all the departments really get to flourish.”

Who's Joining Juno Temple?

The cast is stacked with talent. Joel Kinnaman, Daniel Ings, and Richard Gadd are all on board in key roles. Miriam Battye, a writer on Succession, is adapting the series for television. While the star power suggests potential for multiple seasons, Temple isn't sure what lies beyond Season 1. “I’m not sure. I’m not sure the answer to that,” she admitted. “I think we’d have to shift it a little bit for another season if there was a want to do that. But yeah, we’ll see.”

For now, fans can catch Temple in all three seasons of Ted Lasso on Apple TV, with a fourth season on the way. She also recently appeared in Fargo and Venom: The Last Dance. If you're looking for more sci-fi on Apple TV, check out Apple TV's 'Star City' Spin-Off Recasts Key Characters: Here's Why.
