It's been less than a year since Netflix dropped His & Hers, and the psychological thriller has already cemented itself as one of the streamer's biggest hits of 2025. Now, the creative forces behind that show are joining forces once again for another Alice Feeney adaptation — and this one promises to be even more twisty.

According to Deadline, William Oldroyd, who wrote and directed the six-episode limited series, will return to adapt Feeney's upcoming novel Twist, set to hit shelves in early 2027. The project is being developed with Fifth Season, the production company behind His & Hers, along with Kristen Campo's Campout Productions, Jessica Chastain and Kelly Carmichael's Freckle Films, and Bill Dubuque and Tessa Thompson's Viva Maude. Thompson, of course, starred in His & Hers alongside Jon Bernthal.

Why Loki Is Now Essential Viewing Before Avengers: Doomsday
Avengers: Endgame Encore adds new scenes that make Loki essential viewing before Doomsday. Here's why the Disney+ series is key to the MCU's future.

While His & Hers was a murder mystery centered on an estranged couple, Twist takes a more personal, domestic turn. The story follows a flight attendant living a double life — married to two different men in two different cities. When a murder shatters that carefully constructed existence, secrets begin to unravel, and the narrative unfolds through dual points of view. It's a marriage thriller that asks a chilling question: can we ever truly know the person we marry?

Feeney's novel is scheduled for publication in the U.S. in February 2027 by Macmillan Publishers. The adaptation is still in early development, but given the success of His & Hers, expectations are high.

For those who haven't caught up yet, His & Hers follows Anna (Thompson), a fading news anchor, and Jack (Bernthal), a detective, as they investigate a murder in their small Georgia hometown. The show, which holds a 71% Rotten Tomatoes score, ends with a jaw-dropping reveal: Anna's mother, Alice (Crystal Fox), was the killer, targeting her daughter's former classmates for their role in a past assault. Anna, the only one who knows the truth, is left to grapple with her mother's actions.

Fans hoping for a second season of His & Hers may be disappointed — Oldroyd has said the story was always conceived as a limited series, and only Netflix could change that. But the new project offers a fresh chance to dive back into Feeney's twisted world.

If you're a fan of near-perfect thrillers, this is one to watch. And for those who love a good Netflix thriller adaptation, the team behind His & Hers is clearly a winning formula.

Stay tuned for more updates on Twist as they come.
