Two years after Blue Bloods wrapped its 14-season run, the spin-off centered on Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) continues to expand its world. The Season 1 finale ended with Detective Brian Rodgers (Ryan Broussard) attacked and seemingly left for dead in a river. Now, the new season will pick up that thread while also bringing in a familiar face: Henry Reagan, played by Len Cariou.
Henry is the Reagan family patriarch, a former NYPD commissioner, and Danny's grandfather. His return is a big deal for the series, as it strengthens the connection to the original show. The premiere is set for October 9, 2026, at 10/9c on CBS. The first-look images confirm Wahlberg and Martin-Green are back, with Lena seemingly recovered from the gunshot wound she suffered in the finale. As for Rodgers, the synopsis doesn't reveal his fate, but the investigation into his attack is ongoing.
Returning alongside the leads are Gloria Reuben, Ernie Hudson, Maggie Lawson, Mika Amonsen, and Marcus Scribner. Marisa Ramirez will reprise her Blue Bloods role as Maria Baez, and Will Estes is also set to return as Jamie Reagan, though CBS hasn't confirmed which episode he'll appear in.
