Get ready to return to the Great Hall—er, the baking tent. Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking is back for a third season, and this time, the competition is getting a major magical upgrade. Food Network and HBO Max have unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming season, which premieres Wednesday, November 4 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, and it's clear that the stakes have never been higher.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first Harry Potter film, the show is pitting all four Hogwarts Houses against each other. Four teams of three returning contestants will represent Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin, all vying for the coveted Wizards of Baking Cup—and a VIP trip to Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter. That's a prize that would make even the Triwizard Tournament look like a casual bake sale.

New Judges, Familiar Faces

Hosts James and Oliver Phelps, beloved for their roles as Fred and George Weasley, are back to guide the chaos. But they won't be alone at the judges' table. This season welcomes Duff Goldman and Sarah Mountain as the show's new "Ministers of Baking," bringing fresh expertise to the magical mayhem.

Oliver Phelps teased what's in store: "We're so excited for all Harry Potter and baking show fans across the world to see this season's amazing showpieces. The all-star teams will leave our audience spellbound." James added, "We feel like the luckiest hosts because we get to be part of this fun tournament, with some of the world's best bakers and chefs, and celebrate the anniversary of the first film in a series that sparked a global phenomenon."

The returning contestants are all cake artists, bakers, and pastry chefs who have competed before but never taken home the trophy. Now, they're back with something to prove—and a House crest on their aprons.

What to Expect This Season

The seven-episode season kicks off with a supersized two-hour premiere. The four Houses will face their first challenge: creating elaborate cakes inspired by iconic moments from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, all set against the backdrop of the legendary Quidditch Pitch. And because one massive cake isn't enough, they'll immediately be tasked with a second showpiece inspired by their favorite spells.

Throughout the competition, challenges will draw from the Chamber of Secrets, the Dark Arts, the Weasley family, and the eternal battle between good and evil. The series will also revisit several famous filming locations, including Hagrid's Hut, Ollivander's Wand Shop, the Burrow, the Ministry of Magic, and the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. In the fourth episode, Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto will guest-judge a special Dark Arts challenge.

If you're a fan of other magical competitions, you might also enjoy the Brooke Shields-produced comedy trailer or the new Rocky origin story trailer. And for those keeping up with the Wizarding World's small-screen future, the HBO reboot's massive budget is worth a look.

With its blend of nostalgia, high-stakes baking, and House rivalry, Wizards of Baking Season 3 promises to be the most magical season yet. Mark your calendars for November 4—and may the best House win.
