If you've been waiting for the perfect excuse to dive into one of the most celebrated survival horror games of the decade, now's your chance. Capcom's 2023 remake of Resident Evil 4 has dropped to just $9.99 on Steam, a hefty 75% off its usual $39.99 price tag. The sale runs through November 3, giving you a little over a week to snag this modern classic at a bargain-bin price.
This isn't just any old port—the remake reinvents the 2005 original with modern graphics, refined controls, and a darker, more atmospheric tone. It's a game that rewards both newcomers and veterans, offering a fresh take on Leon Kennedy's harrowing mission to rescue the president's daughter from a remote European village. The tension is palpable, the action is relentless, and every encounter feels like a high-stakes gamble.
What's Included in the Deal?
The standard edition at $9.99 includes the full main campaign, which is already a steal. But if you're hungry for more, the Gold Edition is also on sale for $14.99 (down from $49.99). That version bundles the Separate Ways expansion, which lets you play as Ada Wong, plus the Extra DLC Pack with additional costumes and weapons. For those who know they'll want every bit of content, the Gold Edition is a no-brainer.
This deal is perfect timing for Halloween, offering a spooky yet action-packed experience for the season. And if you're new to the series, this is an ideal entry point—it's widely considered one of the best games in the franchise, and this remake only strengthens that reputation.
Why Resident Evil 4 Remake Is a Must-Play
The game's brilliance lies in its ability to keep you on edge even when you know what's coming. The remake plays with your expectations, making familiar encounters feel fresh and dangerous. The village, the castle, the island—each location is meticulously crafted to keep you guessing. The combat is a delicate balance of resource management and quick reflexes, where every bullet counts and every decision matters.
It's no wonder the game has been a commercial and critical success, even topping the franchise's box office records in its own way. The remake's popularity has also sparked renewed interest in the series, with Netflix planning to stream the original films later this year.
So, if you've been on the fence, now's the time to jump in. At $9.99, it's an absolute steal for one of the best games of the past few years. Just be prepared to lose a few nights to its gripping campaign.
