Doctor Who fans have been left on the edge of their seats after the latest season's cliffhanger, but there's a new adventure on the horizon that promises to bring back a beloved character from the David Tennant era. Big Finish, the production company known for its high-quality audio dramas, is set to reunite fans with Jenny, the Doctor's daughter, in an exciting new trilogy.
Georgia Tennant, who is married to David Tennant and is the daughter of Peter Davison (the Fifth Doctor), will reprise her role as Jenny in Jenny – The Doctor’s Daughter: Zero Chill. This new collection of audio adventures will feature three brand-new stories: Relax by Adrian Poynton, Dancing in the Dark by Daisy Aitkens, and Fast & Fuming by Lisa Mullens. Fans can expect a mix of humor, action, and heart as Jenny and her trusty companion Noah (Sean Biggerstaff) try to take a well-deserved break from their usual escapades.
But rest is not on the cards for this dynamic duo. They soon find themselves in the crosshairs of Jenny's old nemesis, Jexabel Glyce, portrayed by Anna Lundberg. Glyce, the wealthiest woman in the universe, is determined to make life difficult for our heroes, leading to a series of thrilling and unpredictable encounters.
For those unfamiliar with Jenny's backstory, she first appeared in the 2008 episode "The Doctor's Daughter" during the fourth season of the revived series. In that episode, the TARDIS lands on the war-torn planet Messaline, where cloning technology creates soldiers from DNA. The Doctor's DNA is used to create Jenny, who quickly proves to be a resourceful and courageous ally. Though she appears to die at the end of the episode, she is later revived, leaving her story open for further exploration.
Big Finish has been a haven for Doctor Who fans, producing a wide array of audio adventures that expand the universe beyond the TV screen. Their recent Circuit Breaker event featured Jo Martin's Fugitive Doctor, and now they're turning their attention to Jenny. This new trilogy is part of Big Finish's ongoing commitment to bringing fresh and engaging stories to the Whoniverse.
The release of Zero Chill is scheduled for June 2027, and fans can pre-order the digital download or a collector's 3-CD set directly from BigFinish.com. With the BBC still in the process of finding a new showrunner for the main series, these audio adventures offer a perfect way to get your Doctor Who fix in the meantime.
