Taylor Sheridan's TV empire is expanding once again, this time heading to the Lone Star State. After conquering Montana, Texas, Oklahoma, and beyond, the prolific creator is setting his sights on Frisco, Texas, with a new spin-off of Tulsa King starring none other than Samuel L. Jackson. And now we finally know when the show will arrive.
Frisco King will officially premiere on Paramount+ on December 18, 2026, with a two-episode debut, as announced alongside the release of the first teaser trailer. The series, written by Sheridan, follows a seasoned New Orleans gangster named Lee Washington as he lands in Frisco and discovers a hustler's paradise hiding beneath the polished surface of American suburbia. Recruiting an ambitious protégé, a loyal driver, and a growing network of eccentric partners, Lee turns small-time scams into big-time operations. But with every new score, the stakes rise, and Lee must stay one step ahead to keep his crown.
Jackson leads the cast as Russell Lee Washington Jr., bringing his signature intensity and charisma to the role. He's joined by Asa Germann (Gen V), Kai Caster (Yellowstone), Lilah Pate (Outer Banks), and Savanna Gann. The series is executive produced by Sheridan, Stallone, and Jackson, alongside David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, and Keith Cox. Voros and Friedman each direct four episodes, with Voros also helming the pilot.
One of the most exciting aspects of Frisco King is the return of Sylvester Stallone as Dwight 'The General' Manfredi. Stallone will reprise his Tulsa King role in a handful of episodes, and he recently revealed to Collider exactly how many: "I am in two and a half episodes." He also shared his thoughts on working alongside Jackson, comparing their dynamic to two heavyweight champions. "You know, Sam, it's kind of like two racers in identical cars going at the same speed," Stallone said. "You don't feel you're superior, or you're working with a neophyte, or someone who's green. You got a guy here that's had 50 years' experience, so it's kind of like Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier. You better be on your game, or you're gonna get punched out."
The teaser trailer offers a glimpse of Jackson's character arriving in Frisco, with the slick, stylish tone that fans of Sheridan's universe have come to expect. It's a fresh setting for the creator, who has explored everything from ranching to oil drilling, and now turns his attention to the criminal underbelly of a Texas suburb. With Frisco King, Sheridan continues to build a sprawling television universe, and this spin-off promises to be a standout addition. The combination of Jackson's legendary screen presence and Stallone's beloved character is a recipe for compelling drama. As the premiere date approaches, fans can start counting down the days until December 18, when the new king of Frisco takes his throne.
