Euphoria star Chloe Cherry is trading high school drama for high-octane terror in the upcoming Shudder thriller Find Your Friends. The streaming service has just released a first-look image of Cherry's character, Lola, ahead of the film's June 12, 2026 premiere. And if the real-life inspiration is any indication, this is one trip you won't want to miss.
The feature directorial debut of Izabel Pakzad—an actress and filmmaker who won the 2022 LA Film Festival's Best Short and appeared in Birds of Prey—Find Your Friends follows Amber and her four best girlfriends on a much-needed getaway. But their partying quickly draws the ire of hostile locals, and when an aggressive man confronts them, the vacation spirals into a nightmare.
Pakzad's script draws from a harrowing real experience. In a previous interview, she described being blocked in at a dead-end Airbnb by a man in a green Mustang. "Immediately, I knew something was weird… this feels premeditated," she recalled. "On instinct, I just took the car and drove around him—right on the neighbor's lawn—and just started speeding." The encounter escalated into a 100 mph car chase on a Joshua Tree freeway, with the man trying to swerve her off the road. "It was the most terrifying seven minutes of my life," she said.
That authentic terror fuels the film's pulse-racing tension. Alongside Cherry, the cast includes Helena Howard (I Saw the TV Glow), Bella Thorne, and Zion Moreno. For fans of political thrillers or forgotten gems, this one promises a fresh, female-driven take on survival horror.
