For fans of the Alien franchise, the line between "terrifying" and "must-have" is often blurred. The Xenomorph's iconic design, born from the mind of H.R. Giger, is a masterpiece of biomechanical horror—and when an artist truly captures its essence, it becomes more than just merchandise; it's a piece of art. That's exactly what's happening with a new collaboration between Loungefly and Mondo, set to debut at New York Comic Con.
This exclusive collection, revealed first here, features the distinctive work of Attack Peter (the moniker of Peter Santa-Maria, Mondo's senior creative director). His hand-carved linocut style brings a fresh, textured take on the Xenomorph, making it stand out from typical movie tie-ins. The centerpiece is a tote bag that showcases his black-and-cream illustration of the creature, with a facehugger adorning the back and a charming Jonesy charm dangling from the handle. It's a nod to the franchise's beloved feline, who stole hearts in the original film.
The tote is priced at $80, and for those who want a smaller accessory, there's a matching zip-around wallet featuring the Xenomorph and a facehugger-patterned lining for $42. Both items are designed to be statement pieces, blending the raw texture of Attack Peter's printmaking with Loungefly's signature silhouettes.
Santa-Maria's connection to the Xenomorph runs deep. "As a lifelong monster kid, Alien is baked into my creative DNA, and I remember spending my childhood filling notebooks with Xenomorphs," he said. "For this collection, I pored over the original suit design so carefully to translate H.R. Giger's legendary design into my signature, hand-carved linocut style."
This attention to detail is what sets the collection apart. The Xenomorph's elongated head and skeletal features are instantly recognizable, but Attack Peter's interpretation offers a new way to appreciate the creature's complexity. The result is a piece that commands attention, whether you're a longtime fan or a newcomer to the franchise.
If you're heading to NYCC, you can find the collection at Funko's booth (#4515) from October 8–11. Loungefly won't have its own booth this year, so make a beeline for Funko. Alternatively, the items will be available on Loungefly.com for those who can't make it to the convention.
