After a four-year wait, Euphoria finally returned for its third season, and while critical reception has been mixed, the show has stormed HBO Max's streaming charts. But as the series potentially nears its end, cast members are already speculating about what creator Sam Levinson might do next.
In a recent episode of Collider Superlatives, stars Chloe Cherry and Martha Kelly—who play Faye and Laurie, respectively—were asked which Euphoria cast or crew member is most likely to “run off and join the circus.” Both answered without hesitation: Sam Levinson.
“Honestly, I think that he just loves to learn new things and experience new things,” Cherry explained. “He finds so many things very interesting that I wouldn’t be surprised [if he ran off and joined the circus]. He could do anything. He’s a very interesting person, very multidimensional.” Kelly nodded in agreement, adding that Levinson’s boundless curiosity makes the circus a plausible next chapter.
The playful prediction comes as Euphoria Season 3 dominates streaming, even as its Rotten Tomatoes score has taken a hit due to the show’s shift toward a crime-thriller tone. The season's pivot has divided fans, but viewership remains strong, with Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney leading the charge.
Meanwhile, questions about the show’s future have intensified. In an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Zendaya suggested that Season 3 could be the final chapter. “I think this might be it,” she said, noting the logistical challenges of reuniting the cast after such a long hiatus. With many stars moving on to other projects, the likelihood of a Season 4 seems slim.
Levinson himself has remained tight-lipped about his plans, but his collaborators see a man who thrives on reinvention. Whether he ends up directing a Broadway musical, producing a documentary, or literally joining a traveling circus, one thing is clear: Sam Levinson’s next move will be anything but predictable.
