Hell's Kitchen is about to get a whole lot hotter. In the latest chapter of Stephanie Phillips' Daredevil run, Matt Murdock finds himself buried under an avalanche of criminal chaos, and just when things look bleakest, a familiar face—and a familiar mask—re-enters the fray. Elektra Natchios, the other Daredevil, is back, and she's not exactly here to play nice.
Issue #6, which hits shelves today, kicks off a new storyline titled "Of Moles and Owls." The premise is simple but explosive: every major street-level villain in New York is gunning for control, and they're all willing to burn the city down to get it. We're talking Owlman, Tombstone, Hammerhead, Silvermane, the Tracksuit Mafia—the whole rogues' gallery of organized crime. Matt, still recovering from his recent clash with the serial killer Omen, is trying to focus on his day job as a law professor. But peace was never an option for the Man Without Fear.
The issue wastes no time throwing Matt into the deep end. After a tense confrontation with Owlman, who's been using hostages to lure the Devil out, Matt learns about a high-stakes exchange: a mole close to Wilson Fisk is about to hand over the Kingpin's infamous black book—a ledger containing secrets about the underworld, Fisk's empire, and even the identities of masked vigilantes. If that book falls into the wrong hands, it's game over for every hero in the city.
But before Matt can act on that intel, he's ambushed by an upgraded Silvermane and a small army of Hammerhead's goons. The fight is brutal, and Matt is quickly overwhelmed. Just as he's about to be beaten into the pavement, the scene cuts to a hijacked police vehicle, where Elektra has been monitoring the chaos on police scanners. A sly smile spreads across her face—she's clearly enjoying the mayhem, and she's more than ready to dive in.
Elektra's return is a big deal. She's been absent from Phillips' run so far, last seen teaming up with Matt to take down Fisk at the end of Volume 8. Her reappearance couldn't come at a better time for Matt, who's in desperate need of backup. But their history is complicated, to say the least. Elektra has been both ally and adversary, lover and enemy. Her help might save Matt's skin today, but it could just as easily unravel his life tomorrow. That devilish grin suggests she's got her own agenda, and it's anyone's guess whether she'll be a guardian angel or a thorn in his side.
This issue also sets the stage for a massive crossover of street-level heroes and villains, and it's a perfect jumping-on point for fans of the Netflix Daredevil series, especially with Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 on the horizon, where Élodie Yung will reprise her role as Elektra. The comic is clearly drawing on that TV energy, giving Elektra a spotlight that feels both fresh and familiar.

It's a tense, action-packed issue that sets up a war that could reshape Hell's Kitchen—and it's only going to get wilder from here.
