The world of Dungeons & Dragons is about to collide with the iconic realm of Azeroth in a brand-new campaign that promises to be the franchise's most ambitious yet. The official Dungeon Masters actual-play series is heading to the World of Warcraft universe, and we've got an exclusive first look at the trailer ahead of its debut.
Set during the reign of the Lich King, this 11-episode saga drops players into the middle of the epic conflict between the Horde and the Alliance as they battle the undead Scourge. But the heroes at the center of this story aren't exactly Azeroth's finest. Instead, we follow a struggling Horde guild, desperate to prove their worth in the fight against Arthas and his legions.
Returning as Dungeon Master is Jasmine Bhullar, joined by a stellar cast including Mayanna Berrin, Christian Navarro, and Baldur's Gate 3 favorites Neil Newbon, Devora Wilde, and Theo Solomon. Navarro, who plays a goblin rogue vigilante named Mystic, hasn't seen the finished episodes yet, but he's already calling the experience some of the best D&D he's ever been part of.
An Electric Start to an Epic Adventure
In an exclusive interview, Navarro described the first four episodes as "electric," crediting the cast's existing chemistry from previous Dungeon Masters campaigns. "We'd really started to gel," he said. "We've been at the table, we've formed friendships and relationships, and the gameplay was some of the best gameplay I've ever seen at a table."
That chemistry is evident in the trailer, which showcases the group's dynamic as they navigate a world filled with familiar faces and new challenges. Navarro was particularly drawn to his character's central question: What does a vigilante look like in a world already full of heroes? His answer became a deep exploration of heroism itself, which he defines as "the willingness to sacrifice and the willingness to change."
Though Navarro wasn't a World of Warcraft veteran before joining, Bhullar's passion for Azeroth quickly won him over. He believes D&D offers the cast the freedom to push beyond the video game's limitations, allowing them to make any choice they can imagine within the established world. By the end of filming, he said the group had "really fallen in love with the world of World of Warcraft."
This campaign is a bold new direction for Dungeons & Dragons, blending the beloved tabletop RPG with one of gaming's most enduring universes.
