Doctor Doom has pulled off plenty of audacious stunts over the years, but his latest move might be his most invasive yet. In a preview for Marvel's Doomquest #5, Victor Von Doom finds himself inside the body of Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman, during one of the Fantastic Four's most critical battles. The twist comes courtesy of writer Ryan North, artist Francesco Mobili, and colorist Frank D'Armata, and it's already raising eyebrows for its unsettling implications.

The story picks up after Doom hijacks Reed Richards' time-travel research, turning a theoretical project into a machine that lets him rewrite Latvia's history. When Reed tries to intervene, Doom gets trapped in a time loop of the Titanic disaster. Escaping that only makes things worse, as Victor begins hopping through different hosts across history. His latest stop? The Fantastic Four's showdown with Galactus, right as Reed returns with the Ultimate Nullifier—a weapon capable of erasing entire worlds.

Doom Learns the Ropes of Invisibility and Force Fields

Occupying Sue's body gives Doom a front-row seat to a moment he despises: his archrival holding the fate of the planet in his hands. But before he can interfere, he has to figure out how Sue's powers actually work. The preview shows Doom methodically testing her invisibility, then moving on to her force fields. His internal monologue treats the whole thing like a science experiment, but the results quickly turn destructive. At one point, he rips an aircraft apart just to see what he can do—a striking image that underscores how terrifying Sue's abilities become when paired with Doom's ambition and total lack of restraint.

It's a deeply personal violation for the Fantastic Four, with Reed's greatest enemy using his own teammate's body to pursue a different outcome. Doom may think he understands the potential of Sue's powers, but the preview cuts off before we see how his meddling affects the Galactus confrontation. Fans will have to wait until Doomquest #5 hits shelves on October 21 to find out.

This isn't the only Marvel storyline making waves right now. The publisher recently introduced a new President of the United States in a surprising twist involving Ms. Marvel, and streaming fans are buzzing about VisionQuest leading a Marvel streaming revival. Meanwhile, Doctor Who enthusiasts are still processing Jodie Whittaker's hopeful take on the show's future.

For now, all eyes are on Doom and the Invisible Woman—or rather, Doom as the Invisible Woman. It's a body-swap scenario with high stakes, deep personal wounds, and a whole lot of destruction. And if the preview is any indication, Victor Von Doom is just getting started.
