The streaming service has just dropped the official trailer for The Doomies, an upcoming animated series that promises to turn a quiet coastal town into a monster-filled playground. Premiering June 26, the show is perfect for fans of Summerween—that growing trend of celebrating horror vibes long before October rolls around.
Created by Academy Award-nominated studio Xilam Animation in partnership with Disney Television Animation, The Doomies follows best friends Bobby and Romy, two ordinary teenagers whose lives take a wild turn after a single mistake. According to the official synopsis, they accidentally open a portal to evil, transforming their tranquil seaside home into a hotspot for terrifying creatures of doom. As they work to uncover the mystery behind the outbreak, the duo must confront both literal monsters and the personal challenges of growing up.
The voice cast brings the characters to life with talent and energy. Max Mittelman voices Bobby, Madison Calderon takes on Romy, Noel Gibson plays Kim, Jon Bailey is Doug, and Zehra Fazal voices Jenny. The series was co-created by Andrès Fernandez, Pozla (Rémi Zaarour), and Henry Gifford, with Fernandez directing all 22 episodes. Xilam's Marc du Pontavice serves as producer.
Disney+ is releasing the entire first season at once—all 22 half-hour episodes—along with four companion short-form episodes titled "Doug Unfiltered," "Ghosted By A Ghost," "Creepy Crepe," and "What Is That Thing?" That means fans can binge the whole story from start to finish on premiere day.
Before its streaming debut, The Doomies is already making waves on the festival circuit. The series has been selected to compete at the 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival in the TV Films category. Its episode "Night of the Fishing Dead" was chosen from more than 2,400 submissions and will screen during the festival's June 21–27 event. That's a major nod for a show that hasn't even aired yet.
