When Dexter: Resurrection returned for its second season, it brought back familiar faces like Angel Batista and Harry Morgan, but the real buzz is about the fresh blood. The sequel series has introduced a compelling mix of new characters who are shaking up Dexter's world in unexpected ways. Here's our ranking of the best new additions so far.
11. Fiona Mixon
Fiona (Nona Parker Johnson) enters as a potential love interest for Harrison, but she's no damsel. A confident cop with a vulnerable side, she sees through Harrison's guarded exterior. Her father is the police captain, which adds layers of complication. Fiona's growing influence over Harrison could strain his already tense relationship with Dexter, making her a key player to watch.
10. Detective Melvin Oliva
Detective Oliva (Dominic Fumusa) may not be the flashiest character, but he's the steady hand in the chaos. He's a loyal partner to Detective Wallace, and his pride in her achievements is heartwarming. Season 2 reveals his dedication as a father, grounding him as a moral compass. While he hasn't had a breakout moment yet, his potential for a compelling arc is undeniable.
9. Blessing Kamara
Blessing (Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine) is the ray of sunshine in Dexter's grim world. His traumatic past hides a darkness, but his genuine positivity is infectious. He serves as a reminder to Dexter of the goodness he's fighting to protect. Blessing's innocent interference in Dexter's plans makes him both endearing and a source of tension. We can't help but root for him, even as we dread the day he learns the truth.
8. Captain Mixon
Captain Mixon (Bokeem Woodbine) commands respect. He's a demanding leader who doesn't suffer fools, blending the authority of LaGuerta with the pragmatism of Matthews. His perceptiveness could make him a formidable adversary for Dexter. Whether he becomes a Lundy-like figure who suspects the truth or a Doakes-style hunter, Mixon is a force to be reckoned with.

As the season progresses, we're eager to see how these characters evolve. Will Fiona become a confidante or a threat? Will Oliva's moral compass be tested? And can Blessing maintain his optimism in the face of Dexter's world? Only time will tell, but one thing's for sure: Dexter: Resurrection is proving that even after all these years, the franchise can still surprise us.
