Netflix and Studio Trigger have officially announced the return of Delicious in Dungeon for a second season, and they've given fans a tantalizing first look at what's to come. The beloved fantasy anime, which premiered in 2024, will be back in October 2027, as revealed over the weekend at Anime Expo.

The announcement came with a brand-new poster that echoes the manga's iconic cover art, featuring protagonist Laios Touden and his party alongside the Chimera version of his sister Falin and the menacing Mad Mage, Thristle. It's a visual treat that promises more of the series' signature blend of high-stakes dungeon crawling and culinary creativity.

Best Anime of 2026 So Far: The Top 10 Ranked Must-Watch Series
From Witch Hat Atelier to Jujutsu Kaisen, these 10 anime series have dominated 2026's first half. Here's our ranked list of the best so far.

For those who haven't yet dived into this delicious world, Delicious in Dungeon follows Laios (voiced by Damien Haas) on a desperate mission to rescue his sister Falin (Lisa Reimold) after she's devoured by a red dragon. Alongside his loyal companions Marcille (Emily Rudd), Chilchuck (Casey Mongillo), and the dwarf Senshi (SungWon Cho), Laios must navigate a treacherous dungeon while cooking up monster-based meals to survive. The series has been a critical darling, earning a perfect 100% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 93% audience Popcornmeter rating, while also landing on Netflix's Top 10 charts.

Season 1 adapted the first 52 chapters of Ryoko Kui's manga, introducing viewers to the Golden Kingdom's ancient curse and the Mad Mage who rules the dungeon. The season ended with Laios formulating a plan to break the mage's spell and save his sister, setting the stage for an epic continuation. The show's popularity even spawned a pop-up café in Japan that recreated the monster dishes seen in the anime, further cementing its cultural impact.

While fans will have to wait until 2027 for the next chapter, there's plenty of other content to explore on Netflix. For instance, Old Henry: The Coolest Western of the Decade Finally Gets Its Netflix Due is a must-watch for genre fans, and Netflix's 2026 Slate: 7 Upcoming Shows Ranked by Hype offers a glimpse at what's coming soon.
