Deborah Ann Woll is making a major career pivot. After three seasons as Karen Page in Netflix's Daredevil and a return in the reboot Daredevil: Born Again, Woll is officially joining the cast of Hulu's hit sci-fi series The Testaments for its second season. The news comes hot on the heels of the announcement that Born Again will conclude with its upcoming third season, which has already wrapped production and is slated for release next year.
Woll's departure from the Marvel universe is bittersweet for fans, especially since the Defenders—including Luke Cage and Iron Fist—were confirmed to appear in the final season. The series, an adaptation of Margaret Atwood's sequel to The Handmaid's Tale, has earned strong reviews—88% from critics and 83% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. The official synopsis describes it as a coming-of-age story set in Gilead, following teens Agnes and Daisy as they navigate the brutal world of Aunt Lydia's elite school for future wives. Their bond becomes a catalyst that could upend everything.
Chase Infiniti, who broke out in One Battle After Another and Presumed Innocent, leads the cast. The first season is currently streaming on Hulu, and fans are eagerly awaiting the second.
Woll's move to Hulu marks a significant shift in her career, but it's not entirely surprising given the recent news about Daredevil: Born Again's end. While some might argue that Agents of SHIELD deserves a Marvel comeback more, Woll is clearly focused on new horizons.
