Norman Reedus has been fighting walkers for 16 years, and now the end is officially in sight. At New York Comic Con, AMC finally pulled back the curtain on The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 4, revealing a February premiere date and a brand-new trailer that promises an emotional, action-packed conclusion to Daryl and Carol's long journey.

The new footage, unveiled during a panel featuring star Melissa McBride, showrunner David Zabel, and franchise chief content officer Scott M. Gimple, flashes back to the very beginning of Daryl and Carol's bond before launching into their final, desperate push toward home. After Season 3 ended with their best shot at crossing the Atlantic literally going up in flames, the pair are stranded in the ravaged Spanish countryside with nothing but hope and each other.

A Farewell 16 Years in the Making

Reedus first appeared as Daryl Dixon in 2010 and quickly became one of the flagship series' most beloved survivors. He's one of the few actors to stick with The Walking Dead from its first season all the way to its conclusion, and he's since carried the character into video games, Robot Chicken, and now his own spin-off. Season 4 will mark his and McBride's final ride, closing a chapter that has spanned more than a decade and a half of television history.

The stakes couldn't be higher. Daryl has been trying to get back to the U.S. since he first washed ashore in France, and Season 4 finds him and Carol grappling with what "home" even means anymore. Joining Reedus and McBride is Jimmy Smits as Alejandro Perkins, a resourceful former doctor and Navy captain, alongside returning cast members Romain Levi, Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada, Candela Saitta, and Hugo Arbués.

The Walking Dead Universe Expands on AMC+

Daryl and Carol weren't the only topic of conversation at the panel. Gimple also announced that, for the first time ever, all 11 seasons of the original The Walking Dead will land on AMC+ starting January 7, 2027. That brings the entire franchise — a staggering 371 episodes — under one streaming roof as part of the Walking Dead Universe collection.

"The Walking Dead continues to be one of the most popular television franchises in the world, and we're thrilled to add the groundbreaking, original series to our flagship streaming service," said Courtney Thomasma, EVP of Linear and Streaming Products for AMC Global Media. "In the new year, both dedicated fans and new audiences will be able to immerse themselves in this cultural phenomenon from the very beginning."

For fans who want to relive the early days before Daryl and Carol say goodbye, there's no better time to start a rewatch. And if you're looking for more post-apocalyptic action, AMC+ has plenty of other genre offerings, from The Institute's upcoming second season to the wildly different vibe of Owen Wilson's golf comedy Stick.

What to Expect in the Final Season

The trailer makes one thing clear: this isn't going to be an easy goodbye. Daryl and Carol have survived impossible odds, lost countless friends, and forged a bond that has become the emotional backbone of the entire franchise. Season 4 will test that bond one last time as they fight through Spain, confront new threats, and chase the one thing that's always felt just out of reach — a way back to the people they love.

Whether they make it home or not, one thing is certain: The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 4 is shaping up to be a tear-jerking, action-heavy sendoff worthy of two of television's most iconic survivors. The final ride begins in February on AMC and AMC+.
