Connor Storrie has quickly become one of Hollywood's most in-demand talents, thanks to his breakout role in Heated Rivalry. Now, he's taking a sharp turn into action-packed sci-fi with his latest film, April X. Directed by Michel K. Parandi, who co-wrote the script with Jack Coulton, the movie drops Storrie into a dystopian world where he's on a desperate mission to find his twin sister, played by Lilly Krug.
Collider is excited to share an exclusive sneak peek from April X, offering a glimpse of Storrie in a role that's a far cry from the hockey rink. In the clip, his character Bax is on his knees, surrounded by two men demanding money. But Bax isn't concerned about the debt—he's fixated on one thing: his sister. He pleads with the men to release her, and it takes a moment for them to realize he thinks they're holding her captive. When they clarify she's not with them, the scene takes a darker turn as Bax is doused in gasoline, still frantically searching for answers.
The film's official synopsis sets the stage: "When his twin sister April (Krug) goes missing, Bax (Storrie) searches every corner of their futuristic, post-Soviet cityscape to find her, ultimately descending into madness." It's a haunting premise that promises a psychological and physical ordeal for Storrie's character.
For fans of Storrie, April X is a welcome departure from the beloved Ilya Rozanov in Heated Rivalry. That series, which also starred Hudson Williams, turned both actors into household names. Williams has already lined up Yaga on AMC and AMC+, and the duo have been flooded with brand deals since the show's success. Storrie, meanwhile, has been selective with his post-SNL projects, making April X one of his first major film roles outside of his own shorts.
The shift to action is a bold move for Storrie, and the sneak peek suggests he's more than up for the challenge. His portrayal of Bax is intense, raw, and emotionally charged—a stark contrast to the romantic tension of Heated Rivalry. It's a performance that could cement his status as a versatile leading man.
While fans wait for a potential reunion of Rozanov and Hollander, April X offers a compelling reason to see Storrie in a completely different light. The sci-fi thriller is set to hit theaters on September 18, and if the sneak peek is any indication, it's a ride worth taking.
