Arrow Video is giving fans of '90s action-comedy a reason to celebrate. The cult favorite The Last Boy Scout, starring Bruce Willis and Damon Wayans, is finally getting the 4K treatment, and a brand-new trailer has just dropped to tease the release.
Directed by Tony Scott (Top Gun) and written by Shane Black (Lethal Weapon), the 1991 film pairs Willis as Joe Hallenbeck, a washed-up Secret Service agent turned private eye, with Wayans as Jimmy Dix, a former NFL quarterback caught up in a deadly conspiracy. The 4K UHD and Blu-ray releases are set for October 13, with the restoration sourced from the original 35mm camera negative and approved by cinematographer Ward Russell. The disc will feature Dolby Vision HDR and a choice of original lossless audio or a Dolby Atmos mix.
The release is packed with extras that dive deep into the film's legacy. Highlights include a new commentary by critics Josh Nelson and Martyn Pedler, fresh interviews with screenwriter Shane Black and actress Danielle Harris, a featurette on Tony Scott's filmography, and deleted scenes. The limited edition adds a collector's booklet, new artwork by Sam Hadley, and a reproduction of Black's original screenplay.
