Brad Pitt's racing epic F1 has just crossed a major milestone, cementing its place as one of Apple TV's most enduring hits. The film, which roared into theaters last summer, has now spent over 300 days on the platform's U.S. top 10 chart—a feat that underscores its lasting appeal with subscribers.
Directed by Joseph Kosinski, F1 became a global phenomenon, earning $633 million worldwide against a budget reportedly between $200 million and $300 million. That made it Apple Original Films' highest-grossing theatrical release ever. But its success didn't stop at the box office. The film also impressed the Academy, landing four nominations at the 98th Oscars, including a coveted Best Picture nod. It took home the prize for Best Sound, a category many had predicted it would dominate from the start.
Now, more than a year after its release, F1 is still drawing viewers on Apple TV. Its 300-day streak on the top 10 is a testament to both Pitt's star power and the film's adrenaline-fueled appeal. For a streaming service that's been steadily building its original film library, F1 remains a crown jewel—and a clear sign that Apple's investment in big-screen spectacle is paying off.
Pitt's Busy Slate Continues
While F1 keeps racking up streaming wins, Pitt is already back in theaters with another project. Heart of the Beast, a survival thriller directed by David Ayer, has grossed $131 million worldwide over its first three weekends, against an $82 million budget. The film stars Pitt alongside Anna Lambe, Oscar winner J.K. Simmons, and a scene-stealing German Shepherd named Uber. It's a strong follow-up for Pitt, who continues to balance blockbuster fare with more intimate, character-driven work.
And there's more on the horizon. Pitt is set to reprise his Oscar-winning role as Cliff Booth in The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, a standalone sequel to Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. This time, Tarantino has written the script, while David Fincher takes the director's chair—reuniting with Pitt after Se7en and Fight Club. The film will debut exclusively in IMAX on November 25 before hitting Netflix on December 23, marking Fincher's final collaboration with the streamer under his current deal.
Apple TV's Growing Slate
F1's sustained success comes as Apple TV continues to expand its original programming. The service recently renewed Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed for season 2, and it's finding new audiences for catalog titles like Keira Knightley's Pirates of the Caribbean. Meanwhile, Will Smith's I, Robot is enjoying its own 50-day Apple TV streak, showing that the platform's mix of originals and licensed content is keeping viewers engaged.
For Pitt, the 300-day milestone is just the latest highlight in a remarkable run. With Heart of the Beast in theaters and Cliff Booth on the way, he remains one of the few stars who can reliably draw audiences to both the multiplex and the living room. And as F1 continues to lap the competition on Apple TV, it's clear that his victory lap isn't over yet.
