Anya Taylor-Joy is pulling double duty on Netflix. While her latest film, Sacrifice, continues to rack up impressive streaming numbers, her next small-screen project is already gearing up. The actress has officially begun production on How to Kill Your Family, an eight-part revenge drama that promises to be every bit as twisted as its title suggests.
Based on Bella Mackie's bestselling 2021 novel, the series follows Grace, a young woman hellbent on taking down the wealthy family who turned their backs on her and her mother. Taylor-Joy steps into the lead role, and she's also executive producing through her LadyKiller banner. The show was commissioned by Netflix two years ago, and now cameras are finally rolling in London.
According to What's on Netflix, filming kicked off in mid-October 2026 and is expected to wrap by mid-February 2027. A few scenes will also be shot in Spain, specifically in Marbella. The first set photos have already surfaced, showing Taylor-Joy as Grace arriving back in London after a deadly family trip to Marbella. In the images, she's standing in front of a black Georgian door, clutching a cream-and-tan suitcase with a tag reading AGP to LGW—that's Málaga to Gatwick, for those not fluent in airport codes.
Joining Taylor-Joy is Academy Award nominee Clive Owen, who plays Grace's father, Simon Artemis. Orlando Norman and David Shields are also on board in undisclosed roles. The eight-episode series is directed by Emma Moran, whose sharp, darkly comedic sensibilities should pair perfectly with Mackie's source material.
As for when we'll actually get to see How to Kill Your Family, don't hold your breath. With production running until early 2027 and post-production right after, a late 2027 or early 2028 premiere on Netflix seems most likely. That's a long wait, but given Taylor-Joy's track record, it'll probably be worth it.
In the meantime, fans can catch her in Sacrifice, which hit Netflix just three days ago and is already making waves. The adventure dramedy sees Taylor-Joy as Joan, a zealot who, along with her siblings, is driven by a mysterious volcanic prophecy to cleanse the Earth after their mother's death. They hijack a glamorous charity gala and take three unlikely hostages—including movie star Mike Tyler, played by Chris Evans—for a sacrificial ritual. The film originally debuted in theaters on September 6, 2025, to mixed reviews, but it's finding new life on streaming. It currently sits at #2 on Netflix's U.S. charts, right behind Ben Affleck's Animals.
